Here's the inside story: Kraketto and I were arguing over the definition of irony. We were, admittedly, fairly looped on cow part soup when he says to me, "Martok, I will show you what irony means to earthlings". Next thing you know, the inventor of the Segway (we've had these for year btw) goes off a cliff while riding his own invention.

Kraketto can be a real asshole sometimes.

Hmmm. It's like rain on your wedding day. Or a free ride when you've already paid.
Very weird. Funny, but weird.

He wasn't the inventor of the segway.

He was a very good man, who truly believed in using his wealth to help others. He bought the rights to manufacture and sell segways from inventor Dean Kamen, and had recently donated some five million dollars worth of segways to a charity which seeks to give back mobility to injured servicemen.
Characteristically, his death occurred when he manouvred to the side of a riverside track to allow a group of walkers to pass.
Karma? I think not. Irony? not that, either.
Ask yourself this. If you died, would the number of people who wanted to attend your funeral number in the thousands?
Would anyone fly three thousand miles to it, because your invention saved his life?

Yes, I know the headline seemed funny, and we all make jokes without thinking of the reality, I do too.

Watch the video, and see if you still think Jimi Heselden's death was funny.
