SAN FRANCISCO - A federal judge ruled Tuesday that California must change its lethal injection method for an execution next week, saying the current mix of drugs may constitute cruel and unusual punishment.

Did the dead girl get any humane treatment?
Too bad the girl's family can't beat the bastard to death instead.

My two cents: Before execution -- as in after being found guilty -- each of the victums family members gets 5 minutes alone in a room with the convict. This happens every year until either the beatings kill him or the State does. Not that I have an opinion.
Um... I'm not into all this torture stuff so I might be talkin out my ass here, but there is a NEW cocktail to execute someone and THIS is the problem??
In all the movies and TV I've seen, you can fill the syrenge with AIR and kill the person pretty much instantly.
We PAY for drugs to kill someone and get a big todo about it... just LEAVE IT EMPTY and shoot em up!

But...uh...I understood that they gave 'em something to put 'em out first, then a big dose of potassium, which will stop the heart almost immediately. If they're not 'out', they give 'em MORE stuff so they DO go out before they inject the K+. The only pain they should feel is the insertion of the IV.
Personally, I'd like to see 'em get just exactly whatever they gave to the victim. Twice.
I think almost everyone in the country knows they feel no pain. At least, physical.
It's all some sort of ploy to get it stayed is all.
