Maybe Teens Aren't So Dumb

Latest Disturbing Teen Fad--Even for Girls - CNN:

Your teenager may be smoking, but chances are it's not cigarettes. The latest teen craze is cigar smoking, and thanks to an industry that encourages such behavior, they can even smoke grape, cinnamon and apple flavored stogies.

Alarmingly, the trend isn't limited to just boys. Plenty of girls are lighting up, too.

Well, good for them. I love a good cigar. I'm glad to see teens are getting a little class.

But, with all the nanny do-gooders harping on the ills of secondhand smoke and forbidding decent folk to fire up, check this out:

"The recent marked increase in smokeless tobacco use, predominantly by pre-adolescent and adolescent males, has prompted action on local, and Federal level. Smokeless tobacco product have apparantly bacome popular among student in school across tho United States."

Hey, people are going to use tobacco. Evidently the do-gooders would rather slosh through a puddle of spit than smell a little smoke.
