Can you imagine the music we would never have been privy to if it wouldn't have been for acid? Take The Beatles for instance. Or Jimi Hendrix, Jefferson Starship, The Doors, The Grateful Dead, just to name a few. It wasn't marijuana or heroin that caused these people to "think outside the box". No, it was was a little dab of a substance invented by Mr. Wizard there.
Then there's the flip side...

Ooooh I feel the need to make a correction in your list. Jefferson AIRPLANE rocked, Starship, eh... And you do make a great point about the music. Sadly, I knew too many people I could use as examples of "the flip side."
Well, Jefferson Starship, Jefferson Airplane, or just plain Starship each had a song or two that were okay, but each iteration really never really did all that much for me.
