NDOT updates its radio traffic reports
After our story about outdated radio traffic reports, the Nevada Department of Transportation has finally updated its highway information radio broadcast.

News 3's Steve Crupi uncovered that drivers tuning into AM 1610 for construction alerts were hearing information that was more than four months outdated.

Wednesday, a new message was recorded, giving drivers an easy hands-free method of checking on lane closures and detours.

The system may be phased out, however, as the state puts more emphasis on digital traffic news delivered over cell phones and the Internet.

Nice. What with all the emphasis on fucking paying attention to driving when you're - well, driving, the department of transportation is going to be sending texts of traffic to phones? And what about reading the updates on the internet? How else are you supposed to get the most current updates in your car?

Now on the one hand, serves the dumb-ass criminals right for shooting at people and running from the law. I'm glad they got the shit beat out of themselves.

On the other hand, in this day and age of cops getting flack for beating the sense out suspects, and especially with the proliferation of dashcams in cop cars, teevee news crews in helicopters, cameras on lamp posts and businesses, you would think they would be a bit more careful as to who and where they perform their shit kicking.

But then, I wasn't there. I don't know all the details.

Global Smarming

A thought I had...

I know, we've already been inundated with the "Global Warming™" propaganda a-plenty lately. It seems us humans are responsible for raising the temperature of the earth, causing the ice caps on the poles to melt, destroying the habitat of polar bears and civilization in general. Especially, us Americans.

But I have a question: What are we doing about all the brush and forest fires that seem to happen every year? Me driving my so-called gas guzzler to work every day puts out a microscopic amount of carbons compared to say, 30 seconds of forest fire.
The way I see it, humans grilling steaks and driving cars can't even hold a candle to the amount of emissions from natural sources.

Go ahead. Prove me wrong.

In the meantime, our esteemed senate majority leader, Harry Fucking Reid, doesn't want us to build coal fired power plants using some of the cleanest equipment and technology in the world. Other countries who of course, don't have to answer to the E.P.A. can build all they want. American businesses who would use better and cleaner technology are fined, regulated and taxed to the point that it becomes economically impossible to build them.

Which makes me wonder, what exactly is Harry Reid for? Of course, he is against anything Bush or any other republican proposes. So tell me, besides "getting them out now", what is he trying to accomplish in his position?
