U.S. must stay until Iraq forces ready: Iraqi leader :What?!?!? You mean to tell me Iraqi's are actually welcoming our help over there?
U.S.-led forces should only withdraw from Iraq when local security forces are able to maintain order on their own, Iraqi President Jalal Talabani said in a newspaper interview published on Tuesday.

I'm shocked. Aghast even.
Evidently, it is only the anti-Bush gang who think we should leave.
I can't wait to see how they spin that one.

oohhhh... spin it baby!!!
I can't wait either, this should be good!!
Got any Anon commenters in the wings for this one????
nope. Just me. The majority of Iraqis also want the US out: http://thinkprogress.org/2006/09/27/iraqis-poll/
You may not like it, but that's the reality (ouch! the 'R' word)
Only the current leaders affiliated with the US want you to stay because,of course, bad things will happen to them if the US leaves (unless of course they get on the last helicopter out).
Oh yes. Because polls are always so accurate:
Would you prefer Bush's soldiers to go home to America so they won't kill your babies or stay here and hold an inquisition for Saddam, who never personally harmed you?
A- Go Home. Don't hurt my baby
B- Stay here and hang someone.
In other words, depending on how the pols are worded you can pretty well manipultate any results. However, a statement coming from the leader of that country may be, just possibly, a little more reliable.
That's true, but then you would be just as apt to see polls erring in the opposite direction i.e. massive support for American intervention. There's no shortage of funds available from the right wing for such a poll. But there is nothing. Surely, if the poll HAD shown support for the US in Iraq you wouldn't have said the same thing.
Look, I am a fan of your site and I think you are an honest, straight shooting kind of person. Filtering out inconvenient facts that don't conform to your view is beneath you.
First, thanks. :)
I like to think that I don't filter out inconvenient facts, or facts I disagree with. I still try to post them and let on how I disagree.
Ah. Therein lies the rub. Those sort of polls (the ones having anything to do with anything positive going on over there) never get reported by our liberal media.
But, again. Polls are bullshit. That's why I was saying the statement held more credibility than the poll did.
