The thing is, you can wash the spinach til you're blue...uh...green...in the face, and it won't do any good. The spinach plants suck up the nutrients in the manure, including the little e-coli beasties, so it's IN the spinach, literally.
It seems that the e-coli is running the world these days...They have big problem in Scandinavia too. They have found e-coli in fruit, vegetables, meat and even the water.
Woops: berms=germs.
