I know, I didn't get any more pictures put up here whilst on the road, but some soon to follow. After I wake up.
Wow. This is a chore. I usually start the day with a spam subject, but hey.
So I ain't gonna harsh my mellow, ya know?
So here's the deal. We're in lovely San Francisco. Staying in the union square area at an old hotel. Cool town so far. If you are adept at avoiding bums anyway. Good gaaaawd-a-mighty, they're proliferant around here. Every ten feet it seems. And that's just the ones lounging around. Add in the ones on the move, and I think half the population of San Fran is bums. The other half being tourists. Except for the half that are fags of course.
Oh well. So far we've had a good time. Got to see some sights like Fisherman's Wharf, Pier 39, submarine tour, Golden Gate bridge and park, ... The usuals. We took a "City Tour" that showed us to all the hot spots. Highly recommended if you don't know where everything is.
So here are a couple pictures snagged from the camera. I'll be uploading them all eventually to my web site, but here is a teaser:
Morning fog on Market Street near our hotel:
Mrs Curmudgeon and I near ... take a guess:
A nifty pic of the ocean:
Victorians and skyline:
Torpedo tubes in the submarine:
Control room on submarine:
And of course, no trip to Frisco is complete without a ride on a trolley car:
After San Francisco, we'll be heading north to the redwoods and wine country, so there will be more pictures. Check back later!

I actually expected the Golden Gate to be gold. What a shocker that was.
I loved San Fran, til I broke my ankle in a night club.
Cool pics. Thanks for sharing.
That last one reminded me of Rice-A-Roni.
Nifty... But are you and the Missus wearing jackets in that picture??
A GREAT place to visit but I wouldn't want to live there. Good crabs on Fisherman's Wharf and pretty close to REAL Chinese food in China Town and I do encourage you to walk UP that damn hill from the wharf and down the crooked road...
Seattle was the same re bums, trip over them if you are not careful. I got propositioned twice by urking homeless persons on the way from the ferry to the Fed Building to see HeWhoMustBeObeyed.
lovely pics though, Mrs C looks like she is having fun!
I kept help but laugh at the word FAG. I remember the look on my ex husbands face the first time he heard the expression, and my Mum saying "Im just going outside to smoke a fag"
He never really did embrace the cultural and language differences nor get the humor.
may I take this opportunity to appologise for my spelling! It was late, thats my excuse..
GO TO ALACTRAZ if you can. That was the best part of our trip to San Fran, except for the transvestites fighting on the streetcar.
S.G.,
Broke your ankle? Now why doesn't that surprise me?
Freddie,
Odd too. I never saw Rice-a-roni on a single menu the whole time we were there...
Deb,
Yes, we are wearing jackets. It was quite chilly and windy there.
The tour guide said it was actually typical summer weather. Later on in the fall when it starts cooling down, and the air temps start getting close to the air temps coming down from Alaska, it will get up into the high 80's and low 90's. Odd.
Guy K.,
Yes, very good crabs. We didn't stop for supper in Chinatown so we didn't try any chinese food. But I have heard it was good. And that crooked road - it was jam-packed with cars. We looked and passed it by.
Bird,
Thanks! And yes, Mrs C and I ... and the rest with us all had a good time.
'fags' - I'm sure you get a smile when you hear that...
Captain America,
We tried. They were all booked up. Had we known tours there were so hard to get, we would have booked one long in advance.
Excellent! SFO is a great city to visit, plenty to see and do. So many good restaurants as well. Thanks for the photos, and nice to meet Mrs Curmudgeon!
Savant,
Yes, it was a good time there. I would definitely like to go back sometime.
Happy to see you had a good time and are safely back to the grind :) Wonderful place to visit! Hubby worked there for 5 months last year and was really happy to get back home though.
sk,
Yeah, like they say. Nice place to visit, but I wouldn't want to live there.
