"The U.S. government can easily pick up the tab for people inconvenienced by bad weather...Yeah, the government should take care of us. Hold our hands, wipe our ass, give us a big welfare teat to suckle, make a bunch of laws to protect us from harm, take away rights that we really don't need or deserve - In general, tell us what we can and can't do, or what we can and can't have.

Disaster relief is too important to be left to private fundraisers...

Sounds like Nirvana to me.

which party do you accuse of taking away right?
Well, to start with, democrats have been trying to take away gun ownership rights for years. They've gotten away with a big chunk of it too. But what I'm referring to is government in general.
Take a look at the latest idiocy in California. (Redundancy alert). The pledge of allegiance is now unconstitutional?
What a sleighload of shit.
If the kids' parents convince the kids that they shouldn't have to say "Under God", that's their perrogative. Other kids who do believe in God shouldn't be forbidden to say it.
I think theose kids have a 'right' to say the pledge if they want. That right was just taken away.
Let me add. If they think the "Under God" part is unconstitutional, why not get rid of that part? It wasn't originally there anyway, it was added in the fifties.
To fight to get rid of the whole thing is, in my opinin, traitorous. That whiney-assed parent should be shot.
