Do you suppose that all the extra preparations made prior to Rita slamming Texas would have been made if the governor of Texas would have been a democrat?
I wish the residents in the shadow of Rita all the best.

What the hell is that supposed to mean? I think it has more to do with learning from the mistakes in handling Katrina, don't you?
F Rachel! Anyway, what I was interested to see is what would have been the Democrats gameplan should Rita have been more devastating. If the Federal Government responded quickly, how quickly would we hear, "Sure, President Bush reacts much faster when it is his home state. Using the devastation of a natural disaster to push a political agenda sickens me, and many others from what I am reading! Leave it to the left!
Geez, how many times to I have to repeat myself. GWB sent Katrina to destroy NOLA because he doesn't like black people. He weakened Rita to a cat3 in so as to show his preference to Houstonians. His awesome power over the forces of nature should unnerve everyone... I think he hates Hollywoodians, too, so I wouldn't be surprised if he makes them an earthquake. Friggin shrub.
So you say "F Rachel" over here... and come to my blog and tell me to kill myself?? You're a real prince!
i think it would have worked just asa well if it would have been a democrat, libertarian....whatever. no governor was going to make that mistake right after katrina.
I totally agree Texas was going to be better prepared after Katrina. But I thought I would throw that post out there anyway just to see what comments I got.
Like skeets said though, I really did expect to hear a lot more of that sort of 'Bush protecting Texas' stuff. I'm surprised the news was more conservative - saying how much better prepared they were this time. The media really pulled one over on me.
pooke,
If these gulf coast states would leave hime alone long enough to get back to his machine , I'm sure he would make one for us.
I got an email from a friend in Houston. He said all they got was a little rain and that the entire thing was *way* overblown (pun not intended).
